Family Trip To Diggerland, Steamtown and Jim Thorpe

On my birthday and final weekend before school starts, the wife and I decided to bring the kids to Diggerland USA. This amusement park was always on our to-do list, but just kept getting postponed. Brandon loves his construction vehicles, and Aria had her phase of singing The Excavator Song.

Then we drove to Steamtown National Historic Site to ride the steam train and walked around the site and tracks (definitely very interesting for train heads), before hitting up “La Festa Italiana” that was going near our hotel.

The next day we drove to Jim Thorpe to catch the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, which if I were to ever do again… would just ride the open air car or standard car. The vista class car that we did was overrated. The experience felt too insulated and the views offered by the vista car was not very good.

For this trip, I packed light. All I had was the DJI Pocket 2 and my Fujifilm X100VI that I fitted in a Peak Design 3L sling. I love the Reala Ace simulation for every day family photos. I switched to Nostalgic Neg for some of the train images as I felt it brought out some of the classic vibes. All images in the video are SOOC.
