Back in November 2016, my wife and I took a road trip on CA-1 from Los Angeles to Monterey, crossing over to Yosemite National Park and then to San Francisco.
We stopped along the many scenic sights this route has to offer, such as, Solvang, Hearst Castle, Big Sur, McWay Falls, Pfeiffer Beach, Point Lobos State Reserve, Bixby Bridge, Monterey, Yosemite National Park, and San Francisco. All listed are featured in this video except for Solvang.
It is unfortunate that parts of the highway is currently (2017) closed due to damage by natural causes. I hope it reopens soon. Also, I highly recommend anyone to do this drive at least once. It was not only amazing, but the experience was rewarding.
