Coney Mountain – Solo Hiking Tupper Lake’s Summer Triad Challenge (Pt. 3/3)

Part 3 of 3 of my Tupper Lake series. After taking the family back to the rental. I refueled and drove back out on my own to the Coney Mountain trailhead, which was about 15 minutes away.

First thing I noticed was how small the parking area is, but luckily, there were only 2 other vehicles there at the time as it was already later in the afternoon. This hike is a simple in and out with a distance of about 2 miles. I found the hike easy, but might be moderate for some. It took me 27 minutes to get to the top while filming and probably around 17 minutes coming down while filming. Once I was at the summit, there were only 3 people there and a dog. Eventually they all left and I had the entire summit to myself, which was great. The chirping from the crickets felt especially loud once I was alone. I proceeded to take a few telephoto images with my X-T3 and flew the Mini 2 around for an aerial view.

On the descend, I raced back down the same trail and came across a few people who were heading up for the sunset. Once I got back to the parking lot, I still had my son’s RC truck in the car. The near empty parking lot was tempting so I had to give it a run.

This video concludes my Tupper Lake trip series. Due to conflicting information regarding the trail closure situation with Goodman Mountain. I did not attempt that trail, which subsequently means I was unable to complete the entire Tupper Lake Summer Triad this time around :(.
