Discovery Cove was also a place my wife and I visited many years ago. Some aspects of the park is different compared to how I remembered it. It has been 14 years so there is bound to be some changes to the cove.
We planned Discovery Cove as a quasi rest day in between visiting all the other theme parks. It was very relaxing just to eat and drink whatever, whenever and of course swimming with live fish and rays or even dolphins if you pay for the package.
The kids loved swimming at the Grand Reef with fish and rays brushing their legs. They thought it was funny and the water temperature was not too cold for that day.
After staying at the reef for a while, we had a little lunch and went to the Serenity Bay area without fish. This was a nice area to hang out in the water. Aria did not want to leave. I had Brandon practice some of his swimming exercises from swim class. We all just enjoyed the water and sun.
On our last full day of the trip, we went to SeaWorld. The tickets were included in our Discovery Cove admission at very low additional cost. So kinda a no brainer. Aria and Brandon loved visiting aquariums and zoos so this was right up their alley. They also enjoyed the dolphin and orca performances. Both are team orca.
Sesame Street Land was enjoyable for kids. Brandon rode his first rollercoaster and he went back for more. There are also other kiddie rides there and they’re very tame. Good for young children.
After SeaWorld we went to eat dinner at Bar Taco and then back to the Airbnb to pack and fly out the next morning.
We flew to Orlando on 4/1 and flew out 4/9. Hindsight, we should have stretched out a few more days just to add more flexibility to our schedule (for rain). For any one traveling with young children, stroller rental was clutch. We had a good experience with Kingdom Stollers, they delivered and picked up at the lobby of the airbnb I was staying at for a reasonable price. We also did rideshare for all our traveling. Renting a car would end up costing more along with the parking, fees and gas. Rideshare dropped us off right near the entrance gates which was great. Do book in advance when leaving the park… it could take some time for the driver to get there with other folks also booking and leaving the park.
Overall, it was a great trip. Weather cooperated for the most part… except Universal Studios. We likely will come back to do Gringotts ride, but it will be a good few years before that happens. Thank you for reading and watching.
